Advent Four

Millennials are leaving religion and not returning.  My point is simple. Parents are responsible for being spiritual guides, teaching children to pray, and bringing them to worship. We teach our children to worship God by worshipping with them. In the process of worship, paying attention to the presence of God, we are transformed. It is in the crucible, that transforming power, we become broken bread and poured out wine to serve, and to love. We become Christ’s love. It is a very different kind of love than what the world knows. What is the summa of commandments? Love the Lord your God..., your self and your neighbor. Love God first, and all else flows forth. Having said that, why are young people leaving religion? Parents and a changing society! So again, my point is if parents want their children to have faith... it is up to the parents!
